Good
morning respected Principal, Senior Vice Principal, Vice Principal (Administration),
Vice Principal (Fernhill), Director of Activities (Fernhill), Teachers and my
dear friends.
A worthy life begins with right
knowledge. But what is right knowledge? Right knowledge is about discovery.
The legendary Brazilian football
star, Pele, talks about his knowledge of football in one interview. “I was
taught to play football by my father who was a good football player himself.
But there was a time in my life when I began to discover the finer knowledge of
the game was inside of me. When I played the best I was just true to myself.”
Who
am I? An important question to ask oneself 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365
days in a year.
How do we cultivate true knowledge?
By refining our attention.
The first step is to understand our
purpose. What do I stand for? If I stand for nothing, I fall for everything.
Then examine the possibilities. It
is an adventure in the field of knowledge.
Learn to do something differently.
Insight, learning within one’s own
self is the final step towards right knowledge. This is the most powerful
source of knowledge.
Knowledge and action if connected
with commitment represents the law of life.
This law of life is a call to
creative destruction of old forms – old habits, old patterns of thinking, old
customs that are out of tune with reality. This law of life called dharma has
enabled leaders transform and stay alive.
So lets transform our life in tune
to reality in the process of seeking knowledge. We have abundant resources. Let
us use them to the maximum.
I would like to share a powerful
story:
A seed was born. It lived a
comfortable life within its shell for some time. Then the rains came. The seed
got soaked and began to rot. The seed thought to itself: I will die as a seed
anyway, so let me create something that will stay alive beyond me. The seed
then decided to crack open its shell and transformed itself into a green plant.
The plant grew rapidly with the help of the rain and fertile soil. Soon it
reached a stage of maturity where it could grow no more in its present form.
The plant then transformed itself into a beautiful flower bud. The flower
bloomed with the spring. When spring was over, the flower began to wither. No
one admired the wilting flower anymore. So the flower decided to transform
itself into fragrance. As the smell of the flower spread far and wide, bees
began to visit the flower. As a result of this relationship new seeds were
born. That old seed which had decided to transform itself came alive again in a
million seeds.
So friends, forget all about your negative thinking in this very moment
and watch your life shift, your energy will transform and you will start to
send out the great vibes that commands respect, love and success.
It is our mind that creates the kind of life we live. If we think
positively we will transform our life accordingly. Everything starts from
within, from the most simple action to the greatest achievement.
I
end my speech with Kemmy Nola’s
quote : Don't give up, even
if something is worrying you. Make the most of this circumstance and transform
every difficulty into a stimulus so that you can go ahead.
Thank you and wishing a successful
academic year ahead…
