Good Shepherd International
School, Fernhill campus, observed World Ozone Day on 16 September 2018 to bring
awareness towards the health hazards and ecological imbalance caused by the
depletion of the ozone layer present in the atmosphere.
The students gave a presentation
through speeches by Azfar, Pranav Natraj and Niyathi on “What is ozone layer?”
and “Why are some ozone good while some bad?”
Students of Grade III presented
an action song on Ozone Day and also gave some information on minimising the
use of such modern equipment like refrigerators and ACs, which release the
harmful CFC compound that is the root cause of the weakening of the ozone
layer, which protects the Earth from the harmful Ultra Violet rays of sun.
The students of Grade VI
presented a skit on three parts, Act I- Plant Trees, Save Trees, Act II- Save
Water and Act III- Cleanliness. Also
Grade VI and Grade V students prepared bookmarks for the Ozone Day and
presented for their juniors which were given by Ms. Deepa Suresh, Vice Principal
and Mr. Milton, Director of Activities.
