Today, I would like to talk about a principle that many successful people would have followed using your biggest disadvantages to your greatest advantage. In this world there is no such thing defined as bad, it all depends on the way you think of it that makes it bad.

Like Helen Keller an American author, once said “Although the world is full of suffering it is also full of overcoming it.”

She was deaf and blind at a very young age after catching an illness. However, this did not stop her from being one of the greatest authors and one of the most famous lecturers during her times. Even though she was deaf and blind she did not brood over it and give up, she used her other senses to their maximum.

Another perfect example could be Stephen Hawking. He was a complete phase changer in the world of Astro Physics. He is more commonly known as the father of the "back holes". He was another unfortunate person, well not unfortunate but just not well gifted. He was physically disabled. This did not stop him from discovering the greatest breakthrough in the world. The way he looked at his physical conditions was not at all negative but he instead said in one of his interviews.

“Well many of you would have surely cursed your physique for the malfunction but, all, I said was that. I may not have the best of physical conditions but who said I was mentally challenged”.

If these people haven’t convinced you enough, well you could take a famous football player Lionel Messi.

I think you all would probably know he had a defiency of growth hormones. Well all he thought was, I am really very lucky to be small compared to be the rest, who thought I would be more agile and leave the so called mighty quarter-backs behind. Now, he has won the Ballon D’or a very prestigious award 3 times in a row, leaving the so called best player Christiano Ronald in the 2nd Place.

“Life would not have given us the best of everything, but it is left upon us to make the best of anything we have”

Principal’s Address.

The Principal, Dr. P.C. Thomas in his address to the students and staff welcomed everybody back to the campus after the vacation. Thereafter, he introduced the new teachers and new students to the school community. He then informed the School of the main events that will take place this term. He exhorted all students to pay particular attention to their academic work. He encouraged all the members of the school community to use their time effectively. He encouraged all students to maintain discipline in all aspects of their school life. He explained that all students appearing for the ICSE, ISC, IGCSE & IB board exams have been put through a series of revision exams and their “Predicted Grades” arrived at. It will now be the combined responsibility of the student and teacher to ensure that the student scores higher than the “Predicted Grade”. Another new feature will be the Inter – House Symphony Competition. Scores of this competition will add towards the Cockhouse Trophy. He also explained to all about the ongoing construction of additional classrooms, audio-visual rooms, laboratories and living accommodation for the Staff.

He also informed everybody that a few eminent personalities such as General V.P. Malik(Retd.), Chief of Army Staff, Rear. Admiral VijayShankar and Rear Admiral Srikanth would visit the School in February and speak to the students.
